About the Assembly:
We are believers gathered unto the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. This local assembly is the result of a Bible Study started in the house of Ev. Raju Matthew in 1997, followed by ministry, outreach and follow-up in the neighboring villages.
The outreach of 15-Aug-1997 brought in a few more to the Bible Study who later professed faith in the Lord Jesus and were baptized at Bethesda Assembly. With the co-operation of Bethesda Assembly some believers moved out to form this local church in the same year. Agape Christian Assembly was started with a few believers. We gather according to the New Testament pattern as seen in the book of Acts and taught in rest of the New Testament. Over the years the Lord has added new believers and some who moved in from other churches. After 13 years we gladly look back at the faithfulness of God in starting and sustaining this local testimony.
We hail from a variety of customs, languages and differences. Yet it pleased the Lord to make us one in the body of Christ; a bit of heaven's experience on earth. Our meetings are in the local language, Kannada with translation to English and freedom to worship and pray in other languages.
Agape is a Greek word meaning God's unconditional love. It is the self-giving and redemptive love for sinners.
There are 4 families commended and sent from Agape Assembly to other parts of Karnataka and India. We support them as they labor in challenging and less comfortable places.
ACCEPT is an assembly outreach ministry to the needy and least in the society. Most of the staff and few patients are in fellowship with the assembly.
